BLiNQ Networks completes field trials with small cell backhaul solution

Telecom Lead Europe: BLiNQ Networks, a provider of
small cell wireless backhaul solutions, has completed two field trials
with its small cell backhaul solution.

The company completed the trials with a tier one global
mobile operator and a fixed access provider in Europe.

The company also announced that additional trials in
North America and Europe are scheduled in Q2 2012.

The company claimed that the trial results confirms that
BLiNQ’s solution are highly scalable, reliable and very cost-effective.

“BLiNQ’s plug-and-play design and patent-pending
interference and spectrum management technology (MARA) is proving to be very
attractive to operators by driving down the cost of adding capacity to mobile
networks while increasing the scalability and reliability of existing
networks,” said Mickey Miller, president and CEO at BLiNQ Networks.

Because of the rapid increase in demand, mobile sites in
urban environments are reaching their capacity creating coverage dead zones and
capacity hotspots. Mobile operators cannot scale cell sites rapidly or
cost-effectively with existing fiber and microwave backhaul solutions because
they are too expensive to implement or may not be feasible in all locations.

The company said that its solution addresses the issue
and allows carriers to deploy capacity easily wherever they need it without
limitations and reuse their valuable access spectrum.

The company’s NLOS small-cell backhaul solution
was specifically designed from the ground up for small cell backhaul. Unlike
alternative solutions, BLiNQ can be deployed anywhere in minutes with one truck
roll and one technician. The solution is self-organizing and is very reliable
because it continually self-optimizes to adapt to its changing environment.

BLiNQ to use Tail-f’s ConfD software to build management system
for wireless backhaul solutions

A few months back, Tail-f Systems and BLiNQ Networks
jointly announced that BLiNQ will use Tail-f’s ConfD software to build the
management system for its next generation of wireless backhaul solutions.
