Lead Asia: Japan’s D2 COMMUNICATIONS (D2C), a mobile marketing company and
Singapore-headquartered Affle Group of companies have formed ad2c by acquiring
MobiMasta, India’s first mobile marketing agency established in 2009.
Both
companies have formed ad2c to transform mobile marketing in India. ad2c has
been floated by D2C of Japan and Affle Group of companies to serve as an
independent full service mobile advertising and marketing agency.
MobiMasta
(now ad2c) was started by Anurag Singh, Viraj Singh and Alok Pabalkar as a full
service mobile marketing agency to address skill gaps within the mobile marketing
value chain.
With
an already impressive and growing list of brands, including Samsung, Yahoo,
Coca-Cola, Reebok, Adidas, NDTV to name a few, ad2c is in a strong position to
grow the mobile advertising & marketing pie in India.
ad2c’s
entry in India will fulfill the need of an experienced and a competent partner
to fuel innovations in mobile advertising and communications industry and this
we believe would enable the disproportionate growth for mobile advertising in
India,” said Anuj Khanna Sohum, founder and chairman, ad2c.
D2C
has the experience of having worked in the biggest mobile market in the world.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and
Communications, in 2010, the mobile content market was about US$8 billion
and the market for transactions, physical goods and services reached US$13
billion.
We
are very excited about ad2c’s launch in India. We will bring to this
venture the deep understanding of the mobile platform and the existing formats
that can be adapted to the Indian marketplace,” said Takayuki Hoshuyama, CEO, D2 COMMUNICATIONS.
