Airtel leads in license fee and spectrum charges, well ahead of Jio

License fee and spectrum charge of Airtel and Jio
Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel is leading in terms of licensee fee paid and spectrum charges during the June quarter of 2017 – well ahead of Reliance Jio.

The recent TRAI data indicates that Airtel has paid license fee of Rs 1,024.56 crore and spectrum charge of Rs 413.48 crore.

Vodafone has paid license fee of Rs 677.72 crore and spectrum charge of Rs 320.06 crore during the June quarter of 2017.

Idea Cellular’s license fee was Rs 556.26 crore and spectrum charge was Rs 272.74 crore.

Reliance Jio, which offered free voice services to its 100 million plus subscribers, paid Rs 8.6 crore towards license fee and Rs 14.83 crore towards spectrum charges. The free offering strategy of Reliance Jio has resulted into loss to India government despite Jio holding considerable spectrum.
