Tecore Networks adds Alcatel-Lucent RAN portfolio

By Telecom Lead Team:
Tecore Networks, a provider of 3G and 4G LTE mobile network infrastructure, has
added Alcatel-Lucent’s Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio to its integrated
solutions.

In order to create a
comprehensive package tailored for regional and remote mobile carriers
worldwide, Tecore is blending the Alcatel-Lucent technology with its iCore
Software-Defined Core Network (CN).

“The addition of
Alcatel-Lucent’s Radio Access Network to the iCore CN products enables Tecore
to offer its diverse customer base of regional carriers an efficient and
cost-effective way to build out or upgrade 3G and 4G networks,” said
Robert Vrij, president of Alcatel-Lucent’s Americas region and head of the
company’s global strategic alliances.

The company said that
Alcatel-Lucent’s RAN technology can also be integrated into Tecore’s Rural
Village System (RVS), which is a network infrastructure package designed for
remote villages and distant locations.

In addition, the
company added that the RAN technology is enhancing the its Rapid Deployment
System (RDS) used by military and disaster-recovery agencies to build secured,
quick and easily deployable networks.

“With Tecore’s
Software Defined CN, and Alcatel-Lucent’s RAN, we present a product portfolio
geared specifically for regional, rural and remote carriers. This is especially
important for operators looking to expand their networks into new territories
and upgrade to 3G and 4G LTE. Tecore is very excited about leveraging
Alcatel-Lucent’s products, and we look forward to a continued
collaboration,” said Jay Salkini, president and CEO of Tecore Networks.

Tecore Network will also
be showcasing their wide range of other solutions and products at Mobile World
Congress 2012.

A few months
back, Tecore Networks expanded the capacity, coverage and capability of the Cordova Wireless
network with 3G HSPA service.
