AT&T brings GigaPower broadband to 38 additional metros

AT&T
Telecom network operator AT&T announced GigaPower broadband in parts of 38 additional metros across the United States — targeting homes, apartments and small businesses.

With the latest announcement, AT&T’s high-speed broadband, which will take on Google, will reach 56 metros, including in the Greenville area.

Offering Internet 1 gigabit per second speed in Los Angeles and West Palm Beach means that AT&T GigaPower is now available in 20 of the nation’s largest metro areas.

Pamela Lackey, president of AT&T South Carolina, said: “AT&T GigaPower network will encourage economic development in the Upstate by facilitating a new wave of innovation through enhanced opportunities for education, health, research and small business growth.”

AT&T recently announced the deployment of the AT&T GigaPower network in more than 1 million locations. AT&T aims to more than double the availability by the end of 2016.

The telecom network operator said its Internet services over a 100 percent fiber network will reach more than 14 million residential and commercial locations.

AT&T GigaPower customers also have access to the latest Wi-Fi technology.
