American wireless carrier AT&T has appointed F Thaddeus Arroyo as the chief executive officer of Iusacell, its Mexican telecom business.
The appointment follows the closure of the $2.5 billion deal to acquire Iusacell that has 9.2 million subscribers in Mexico. Earlier, AT&T said it would be bringing competition, improved mobile Internet service and best telecom network to the Mexican telecom market.

“We will begin working on our plans to create the first-ever North American Mobile Service area covering more than 400 million consumers and businesses in Mexico and the United States,” said Arroyo.
Arroyo will replace Iusacell’s former CEO Adrian Steckel.
Previously, Arroyo served as president of AT&T Technology Development and advanced AT&T’s technology innovation strategy to become an innovation-fueled organization focused on creating new value and velocity for AT&T’s business.
