NTT DOCOMO taps Oracle diameter signaling router for LTE roaming

Japanese telecom service provider NTT DOCOMO has deployed Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router to accelerate the launch of new LTE roaming services.

NTT DOCOMO, which has nearly 63 million mobile subscribers in Japan, has implemented Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router as a virtualized solution to benefit from centralize routing, traffic management, and load-balancing tasks.

The telecom service provider will utilize the Oracle solution to enable the 4G LTE network to grow incrementally to support increasing service and traffic demands

“The rapid growth of LTE in Japan and roaming markets demands that we support LTE roaming to provide our customers with a consistently high-quality mobile experience no matter where they are,” said Hiroshi Nakamura, senior vice president, managing director, Core Network Development Department, NTT DOCOMO.
