The terminal business saw decent growth after its entry into the open handset market in 2013. ZTE said a strong and uninterrupted growth in the smartphones market has resulted in the company’s ability to maintain its position among top five largest handset manufacturers.

ZTE did not share specific market share details on smartphones. IDC does not feature ZTE in the top 5 smartphone brands based on volume market share.

“FY 2013-14 has been a breakthrough year for us and we bagged major LTE deals with Airtel and Aircel. On the smartphone front we entered the open market and we have high hopes for the terminal division. ZTE will consistently follow its strategy to focus in key operations and target business innovations,” Xu Dejun, CEO, ZTE India.
