Nokia acquires Mesaplexx to enhance radio capabilities in Networks biz

Nokia today said it has recently completed the acquisition of the Australian company Mesaplexx to enhance its radio capabilities in the Networks business.

The strategic investment is aimed at offering better mobile broadband experience to its telecom customers.

Utilizing Mesaplexx innovation for developing compact, radio frequency (RF) filter technology for the mobile industry, Nokia can reduce small cells form factor by 30 percent.

The mobile broadband vendor is looking at making radio systems smaller, lighter and more efficient, said Nokia.

The Mesaplexx expertise could help improve radio performance, leading to higher capacity and more efficient networks. This technology would also help reduce overall cost and power consumption and keep radio signal loss to a minimum.
