In the Indian telecom sector, BSNL continues to lead the landline phone service market share with 65.7 percent. Vodafone has the least market share with 0.17 percent in November 2013, said TRAI data released last week.
TRAI data says MTNL has 12.21 percent share in landline services, Bharti Airtel 11.56 percent, Tata Teleservices (TTSL) 5.18 percent, Reliance Communications 4.28 percent, Quadrant 0.71 percent, MTS India (Sistema Shyam Teleservices) 0.17 percent.
According to TRAI, wireline subscriber base declined from 29.08 million in October, 2013 to 29.01 million in November, 2013. Net reduction in wireline subscriber base was 0.08 million at the decline rate of 0.27 percent.
TRAI said the share of urban subscribers has increased from 78.66 percent to 78.73 percent whereas share of rural subscribers has decreased from 21.34 percent to 21.27 percent.
The overall wireline Teledensity has decreased from 2.36 in October, 2013 to 2.35 in November 2013, with urban and rural Teledensity being 6.03 and 0.72 respectively.
