India telecom: mobile service provider market share in 2013 November

In the Indian telecom sector, Bharti Airtel continues to lead the mobile service provider market share in 2013 November, TRAI data showed last week.

TRAI said the mobile service market share of Airtel is 22.31 percent in November 2013, Vodafone 17.94 percent, Idea Cellular 14.57 percent, Reliance Communications 13.28 percent, BSNL 11.16 percent, Aircel 7.41 percent, Tata Teleservices 7.19 percent, Uninor 3.67 percent, MTS India (Sistema Shyam Teleservices) 1.09 percent, Videocon 0.42 percent, MTNL 0.41 percent, Loop Mobile 0.34 percent and Quadrant 0.22 percent.

According to TRAI’s telecom statistics, wireless subscription in urban areas increased from 522.21 million in October, 2013 to 523.80 million in November, 2013. The wireless subscription in rural areas increased from 353.27 million to 357.33 million during the same period.

TRAI said the urban wireless Teledensity has increased from 138.23 to 138.42 and rural Teledensity has increased from 41.27 to 41.71.
