Telecom equipment vendor Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) has bagged a network upgrade and expansion contract from Mobily, Etihad Etisalat Company in Saudi Arabia.

NSN will supply Single RAN (radio access network) and comprehensive services, including refarming of the GSM 900 MHz band to 3G.

This apart, NSN will upgrade Mobily’s 2G, 3G (WCDMA) and TD-LTE networks in the central region including Riyadh, the largest city in the country.

“Since our customer base as well as the adoption of smart devices and demand for high speed data services are steadily increasing, we are committed to upgrading and expanding our networks with the latest technology available in the industry,” said Alaa Al Malki, acting CTO, Mobily Radio Network.
