Kavveri Telecom acquires Rymsa Telecom for EUR 20 million

Indian telecom equipment-maker Kavveri Telecom announced the acquisition of Europe-based Rymsa Telecom for EUR 20 million (approximately Rs 134 crore).

With this acquisition, Kavveri expects its revenue to increase by EUR 15 million, according to media reports.

The acquisition of Rymsa Telecom enhances Kavveri’s antenna product portfolio and also expands the existing sales channels for the Kavveri Group of Companies in Europe and Latin America.

The timing of the Rymsa Telecom business acquisition coincides with the launching of 3G in India, where there will also be a major market for Rymsa high performance antennas,” said Shivakumar Reddy, managing director, Kavveri Telecom Products. 

Rymsa Telecom manufactures telecom antenna. The company has established its business in Europe and Latin America and is growing its market share in the West Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Africa.

Rymson’s clients includes operators like Telefonica, Orange, Claro, Movistar, Telcel, Americamovil and key telecom equipment makers like Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson.

Considerable time was spent to identify a purchaser that was right for the Rymsa Telecom business. The synergies are excellent between the two companies and Kavveri has the resources, capabilities and market strength to ensure the long-term growth and success of Rymsa Telecom,” said Javier Arana, director of Radiacion y Microondas.

Rymsa has production and design facilities in Spain, the United States, and Mexico, which will now be owned by Kavveri Telecom.

 

This is Kavveri’s fifth acquisition in past four years. 



Kavveri’s acquisitions include:

2006: Tiltek Antennae manufactures antennas for GSM, 3G, LTE and wireless technologies.


2007: DCI Digital Communications manufactures RF products for different wireless technologies.


2008: Spotwave Wireless manufactures repeaters for in-building solution for GSM, 3G, and LTE technologies.


2009: Trackcom Systems International manufactures RF products and antennas for defence and space applications.

It has also acquired the technology and IP rights of Sigma Wireless, Ireland, from PCTel USA.

Kavveri’s’s customers include leading operators and OEMS including Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks, Reliance Communications, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel and BSNL.
