G’Five selects Broadcom quad-core HSPA+ platform for Android smartphone

Phone vendor G’Five has selected Broadcom’s quad-core HSPA+ platform for its new WG5701 Android smartphone.

A research report from GfK Group said smartphones priced from $100 to $200 contributed to 61 percent growth in smartphone shipments in Southeast Asia in the past year.

G’Five’s WG5701 capacitive touch 2G/3G dual SIM smartphone, powered by Broadcom smartphone platform, provides consumers with a 1.2-GHz quad core processor, 5.7″ HD (1280×720) IPS display, rear 13 megapixel (MP) camera with flash and front 3 MP camera capabilities.

Zhang Zhixue, chief executive officer of G’Five, said that the integrated capabilities of Broadcom’s platform deliver the graphics-rich multimedia experience and performance at a price consumers want.
