Tata Communications signs voice sourcing deal with OTT provider Vonage

Telecom Lead India: Tata Communications has signed a voice sourcing deal with OTT provider Vonage Holdings.

The five-year deal will allow Tata Communications to provide Vonage with access to its global network and on-going investments in systems, tools and processes to improve voice call quality. These resources aid in operational efficiency and the delivery of leading international call quality for customers.

“Vonage strives to deliver the highest possible quality of voice service to our customers, regardless of where they are or what device they use,” said Ed Mulligan, vice president of Carrier Operations for Vonage.

Tata Communications’ voice capabilities are anchored by its network of submarine and terrestrial cables as well as a Tier-1 IP backbone with connectivity to over 400 PoPs which reach more than 240 countries and territories.

It claims that the company is currently the world’s largest international wholesale voice carrier, carrying more than 1 billion voice minutes per week with 30+ large voice strategic sourcing partnerships signed to date.
