Alcatel-Lucent and ECI Telecom executive Mario Querner joins Newtec as VP Asia

Telecom Lead India: Newtec has appointed Mario Querner as its new VP Asia.

Before joining Newtec, Mario worked with Technicolor, Alcatel-Lucent, and ECI Telecom.

Mario, who has more than 25 years of business experience in telecom and media working in both Europe and Asia, will lead the business activities for Newtec in Asia and the Pacific.

Serge Van Herck, CEO, Newtec, said: “Mario brings extensive knowledge and business connections in the Asia region with him, along with his own powerful ideas for further expanding Newtec in the continent. Over the past years we have seen growth in Asia and we continue to see a strong future with many opportunities.”

 

This year, Newtec launched a number of advanced products such as the high throughput MDM6000 satellite modem and the M6100 broadcast satellite modulator both of which support the latest DVB standards including S2 Extensions and Carrier ID (DVB-CID).

Based in Singapore, Mario will manage Newtec’s Singapore and Beijing offices and bring new products to its existing and new customers, in broadcasting, telecom and government organizations.
