Telecom Lead America: Verizon has doubled the capacity of its Fyshwick data center in Canberra.
To address the demand of its government and enterprise customers, Verizon now has more than 75,000 square feet of data center floor space in Australia, divided among centers in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
The expansion at Fyshwick data center, which offers services including co-location, managed security services, secure gateway, virtual hosting, secure Internet gateway and identity management services, reflects the telecom giant’s commitment to offer advanced IT solutions to global customers.
Verizon claims that its network incorporates more than 200 data centers strategically located in 24 countries around the world. The Fyshwick facility connects to the federal government’s ICON fiber network.
John Karabin, area vice president of Verizon Australia and New Zealand, said: “We have a legacy of working with federal government agencies, and this expansion is a commitment to providing Australian enterprises and government agencies with secure hosting environment for their mission-critical applications.”
