Huawei unveils Blade Remote Radio Unit solution for telecom operators

Telecom Lead Asia: Huawei has launched its Blade Remote
Radio Unit (RRU) solution.

The Blade RRU is designed to support the assembly of
different bands to meet operator multi-band, multi-technology network
deployment requirements.

Part of Huawei’s distributed base station solution, the
solution’s modular, scalable design offer innovation to telecom industry.

The launch of Blade Remote Radio Unit by Huawei will
benefit the industry as mobile broadband develops, operators continue to expand
and upgrade networks to meet growing data traffic demands.

Operators are looking at wireless network deployment to
support multiple technologies and bands.

Operators are also facing challenges as site acquisition
becomes difficult.

Huawei claims that its Blade RRU solution reduces the
total volume of RRU equipment, enhances installation flexibility, simplifies
operations and maintenance, and simultaneously supports multi-technology,
multi-band networks with limited site resources and costs.

Huawei said the volume of a single RRU is 12L, which is
half the industry average. For flexible network deployment, multiple RRUs are
seamlessly assembled as one box with independent installations and maintenance
for each unit, meaning that this single entity of assembled RRUs supports multi-band,
multi-mode GSM/UMTS/LTE, multi-sector, multi-carrier and
multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) technology in accordance with evolving
network development requirements.

The Blade RRU solution enables rapid network deployment
and expansion, easy operations and maintenance, and flexible network upgrades
and expansions to help bring business success for operators.
