AT&T has reached a major milestone by growing its Internet Air 5G home broadband service to 2 million subscribers, adding its second million customers in roughly one year – nearly twice as fast as it took to gain the first million. More than half of Internet Air users also subscribe to AT&T wireless services, highlighting strong demand for bundled connectivity. Beginning next month, customers will be able to purchase Internet Air equipment directly from AT&T retail stores and take it home immediately, simplifying activation. The company also offers bundled home internet plans starting at $35 per month for eligible wireless customers, reinforcing its strategy to expand converged broadband and mobile services while strengthening customer loyalty.

Quectel has introduced the FCM665D, a high-performance Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth module designed to support edge AI applications across smart homes, smart buildings and industrial IoT environments. Powered by the NXP RW612 wireless MCU, the module features an Arm Cortex-M33 processor running at 260 MHz, integrated memory, advanced security with TrustZone technology, and support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, Zigbee and Thread protocols. The compact module enables on-device AI processing, reducing latency while improving efficiency and data privacy. With extensive wireless connectivity and edge computing capabilities, the FCM665D is designed to help developers accelerate deployment of intelligent, secure and energy-efficient connected devices.
AT&T Completes $2.3 Billion EchoStar Spectrum Deal to Strengthen 5G Network Capacity
AT&T has completed its $2.3 billion acquisition of selected wireless spectrum licenses from EchoStar, significantly expanding its mid-band spectrum portfolio to enhance nationwide 5G performance. The additional spectrum will improve network capacity, support increasing mobile data demand and deliver faster, more reliable connectivity for consumers and businesses. The acquisition strengthens AT&T’s long-term network strategy by providing additional resources for future 5G expansion while improving coverage and service quality in high-traffic areas.
