China Mobile Reports Stable Revenue Growth in 2025 as AI and Computing Services Accelerate Expansion

China Mobile delivered steady financial performance in 2025, with total operating revenue reaching RMB1,050.2 billion, reflecting an increase of 0.9 percent. The company’s revenue from principal businesses stood at RMB895.5 billion, rising by 0.7 percent, supported by growth in emerging digital services.

A key highlight of the year was the rapid expansion of computing and AI-driven services, which contributed 20.2 percent of principal business revenue, an increase of 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous year. Revenue from computing services alone climbed to RMB89.8 billion, marking a 11.1 percent increase, underlining the company’s shift toward next-generation digital infrastructure.

China Mobile’s profitability remained resilient. Profit from operations rose by 4.4 percent to RMB148.9 billion, while profit attributable to equity shareholders declined by 0.9 percent to RMB137.1 billion. EBITDA reached RMB338.9 billion, with EBITDA margin improving to 32.3 percent.

China Mobile strengthened its network leadership with 2.77 million 5G base stations nationwide, achieving coverage across township-level regions and above. It also became the first globally to introduce an intelligent 5G-Advanced core network. Its gigabit broadband network expanded to cover 530 million households, alongside ongoing trials of 10-gigabit optical networks.

China Mobile made significant strides in computing infrastructure, with total intelligent computing capacity reaching 92.5 EFLOPS. The company enhanced its three-tier computing network latency to 1 millisecond within cities, 5 milliseconds within provinces, and 20 milliseconds nationwide. Its 400G OTN backbone network has largely achieved nationwide coverage, while its data center capabilities expanded to over 1.5 million standard racks.

Customer growth remained strong, with the total mobile subscriber base reaching 1,005 million. Among these, 5G users totaled 642 million, accounting for 63.9 percent of the mobile base after a net addition of 89.6 million users.

Broadband customers grew to 329 million, supported by a 7.1 percent increase in broadband revenue. IoT connections surged to 1,480 million, positioning the company’s AIoT platform as the world’s largest connection management system.

While traditional communications services revenue declined slightly by 1.0 percent to RMB714.9 billion, newer digital businesses offset this trend. Data center revenue rose by 8.7 percent, with AIDC revenue surging by 35.4 percent. Intelligent computing services emerged as a major growth driver, expanding by 279 percent and pushing cloud computing revenue up by 13.9 percent.

Digital platform engagement saw significant gains. The China Mobile app recorded 346 million monthly active users, an increase of 50 percent. Cloud-based services continued to expand, with Cloud Drive users reaching 210 million and Cloud Video subscribers exceeding 86.7 million.
