Nokia has announced key leadership appointments in India, naming Samar Mittal as India Country Business Leader and Vibha Mehra as India Country Manager, effective 1 April 2026.
Nokia India has reported annual sales revenue of €1.534 billion in 2025 as compared with €1.373 billion in 2024. Nokia has 18,410 employees in India in 2025 as compared with 17,784 in 2024.
The move is part of Nokia’s new leadership model aimed at strengthening its market position and accelerating growth in one of the world’s fastest-evolving telecom markets. Leading telecom operators in India are Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL.

In his new role, Samar Mittal will oversee Nokia’s go-to-market strategy in India, driving business expansion and shaping long-term strategic direction. He will work closely with telecom operators, AI and cloud service providers, and mission-critical enterprise customers to unlock new opportunities.
Main responsibilities of Samar Mittal include deepening strategic partnerships, aligning Nokia’s technology portfolio with market demands, and enhancing execution capabilities to capture growth across India’s rapidly advancing digital landscape.
Vibha Mehra, as India Country Manager, will focus on strengthening Nokia’s overall presence and reputation in the country. She will lead communications, government relations, and public affairs while driving external engagement initiatives.
In addition, Vibha Mehra will oversee India site strategy, talent and organizational priorities, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, ensuring Nokia is recognized as a trusted and responsible technology partner in India.
Samar Mittal brings nearly three decades of experience in telecom and IT. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President at Nokia, leading the Cloud and Network Services business across the Middle East and Africa. His career spans multiple global leadership positions across India, Malaysia, and Dubai, with a strong track record in sales and business development.
Vibha Mehra also joins the role with extensive industry experience of over 26 years. She previously served as Vice President for Government Relations at Nokia, where she managed geopolitics and policy engagement across the Asia Pacific region. Her career includes leadership roles at Microsoft, Intel, and Tata Consultancy Services, bringing a broad perspective on technology, policy, and stakeholder engagement.
