NVIDIA Unveils America’s First AI-Native Wireless Stack — What It Means for 6G

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at NVIDIA, said AI-native networks will unlock extreme spectral efficiency, massive connectivity, and breakthrough applications — a combination that will redefine how devices and digital infrastructure interact.

AI-Native Wireless Stack: A Foundation for 6G

The AI-native wireless stack, built through the AI-WIN project, integrates NVIDIA’s AI Aerial platform, ODC’s software-defined 5G RAN, Cisco’s user plane and 5G core, and specialized 6G applications from MITRE and Booz Allen. This end-to-end system allows networks to combine connectivity, computing, and sensing — the essential pillars of 6G technology.

NVIDIA and its partners even conducted the first user-to-user phone call over this AI-native network at its Santa Clara campus, demonstrating the potential for real-world deployment.

6G Will Enable Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC)

One of the defining features of 6G is Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) — the ability to merge communication and sensing into one cohesive function. NVIDIA and Booz Allen have developed a multimodal ISAC application that fuses camera vision with radio-frequency (RF) sensing to detect, track, and identify objects in real time — even in low-visibility or obstructed environments.
