Render Networks Launches Automation Tools to Speed Broadband Construction and Billing for Telecom Operators

Render Networks introduced new capabilities to automate work closeout and invoicing in broadband construction. The system captures field data, including as-built records, redlines, photos, and task statuses, and transfers it directly into billing systems. This eliminates manual handoffs between construction and finance teams. Contractors and network operators can now complete and bill work without delays caused by data collection or re-entry. The platform supports multiple invoicing methods, such as milestone and quantity-based billing. Mobile apps allow field crews to close out tasks, with data syncing in real time to project managers. The system ensures accuracy in documentation and billing, reducing rework and payment delays. Render’s platform is already used on broadband rollouts across the U.S. and Australia.

India Emerges as Global Mobile Phone Manufacturing Powerhouse, Boosting Telecom Industry Innovation

India has transitioned from assembling mobile phones to becoming a global manufacturing hub. Mobile phone exports increased from $0.2 billion in 2014–15 to $24.1 billion in 2024–25. Domestic value addition in mobile production reached 23 percent, exceeding $10 billion in 2022–23. The sector employed 1.7 million workers in 2022–23, with export-related jobs increasing over 33 times. Government initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme supported this growth. Integration into global value chains helped expand exports, making India the third-largest mobile phone exporter worldwide with $20.5 billion in exports in 2024. The telecom industry is innovating by increasing local production, enhancing supply chains, and boosting export capacity.

NCC Unveils New Regulatory Framework to Transform Nigeria’s Telecom Infrastructure Management

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has introduced a new regulatory framework to manage telecom infrastructure in Nigeria. The framework addresses challenges such as infrastructure gaps, lack of coordination among stakeholders, and uneven service distribution, particularly in rural areas. It sets mechanisms to assess the technical, financial, and operational aspects of telecom infrastructure, supporting planning, reducing redundancy, and improving resource use. The NCC aims to enhance its capacity to process data, monitor operator performance, and update regulation based on market changes. The framework promotes accountability for public and private investments, ensuring resources are allocated to expand internet access.

Telecom Ministry Corrects ₹1,757 Crore Billing Misinterpretation Between BSNL and Reliance Jio

The Ministry of State for Telecom clarified that the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) earlier estimate of a ₹1,757.76 crore loss to BSNL from non-billing Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) was due to misinterpretation of a clause in their infrastructure sharing agreement. The issue has been corrected, and BSNL issued revised invoices to RJIL, ensuring no revenue loss. The government has implemented measures to prevent similar issues in the future, Economic Times reports.

EE Expands 5G Standalone Network to Over 45 New UK Locations, Boosting Coverage to 34mn by 2025

EE, the UK’s largest mobile provider, is expanding its 5G Standalone (SA) network to more than 45 new locations, including Aberdeen, Canterbury, Ipswich, and Windsor. This expansion will increase coverage to 34 million people by August 2025, with plans to reach 41 million by spring 2026. The 5G SA network operates independently of 4G infrastructure, offering faster speeds and improved reliability.
