TIM Brazil Q2 2024 financial performance and key achievements

TIM Brazil has revealed its financial performance and key achievements during the second-quarter of 2024.

TIM Brazil broadband revenue Q2 2024

TIM Brazil has reported revenue growth of 7.5 percent to R$6.303 billion. Mobile service revenue rose 7.3 percent to R$5.766 billion. Fixed service revenue grew 4.5 percent to R$337 million. TIM UltraFibra revenue rose 8 percent to R$234 million.

ARPU

Total ARPU has reached R$31.2 (up 6.8 percent). ARPU of post-paid ex-M2M has reached R$53.4 (up 3.1 percent). Postpaid ARPU has reached R$43.9 (up 1.8 percent). Prepaid ARPU has reached R$14.9 (up 4.0 percent).

TIM has reduced churn rates to 1.0 percent per month, of which 0.7 percent was in postpaid ex-M2M – one of the lowest in the company’s history.

TIM says 5G is now available in 353 cities. TIM has gained the most market share in 5G in the last 12 months.

BROADBAND

TIM UltraFibra, the main line for the fixed segment, grew 8.0 percent, reaching an ARPU of R$98.6 (up 3.9 percent). The performance reflects its strategy to focus on the evolution of FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home). TIM’s FTTH business recorded 14.7 percent growth in its customer base in 2Q24. FTTH accounts for over 92 percent of its total broadband customer base.

CAPEX

Capex amounted to R$925 million (down 0.1 percent). The Capex-to-revenue ratio reached 14.7 percent in 2Q24, compared to 15.8 percent in 2Q23.

TIM Brazil is making significant investment in network infrastructure as 5G begins to consolidate in new regions. This quarter, 5G coverage has reached 87 new cities, reaching a total of 353 cities covered at the end of June.

TIM Brazil is targeting Capex of R$4.4 and R$4.6 billion Reais in 2024.
