Cox invest $400 mn to offer gigabit broadband

Cox Communications is planning to invest more than $400 million over the next three years to offer gigabit broadband to more than 100K unserved households in communities.
Cox retail storeCox announced its partnership with the City of Tahlequah, Ok to offer fiber Internet service to more than 6,000 underserved homes. The company also announced a $20,000 donation from the James M. Cox Foundation to the Boys and Girls Club of Tahlequah to fund a Cox Innovation Lab to provide innovative technology and support to help bridge the digital divide.

In addition to Capex plans in Tahlequah, Cox is also undertaking several fiber broadband projects in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas,  Florida,  Louisiana, California, Virginia and Arizona.

“As part of our commitment to digital equity, we’re making  investments, continuing to pursue partnership opportunities, and  impacting the lives of those in underserved areas by providing high-speed broadband service,” Cox Communications President Mark Greatrex said in a news statement.
