Zain 5G goes live in Saudi Arabia with 2,000 towers

Zain Group announced the launch of its 5G services in Saudi Arabia through a network of 2,000 towers that cover more than 20 cities.

Earlier, Zain launched 5G services in Kuwait.

Zain Saudi Arabia’s 5G network will cover 26 Saudi cities utilizing 2,600 towers by the end of 2019. Zain Saudi Arabia has 8.3 million mobile phone customers on its network in the Kingdom.

Zain Group CEO Bader Al Kharafi said: “We are keen to offer 5G services to all business and individual clients through various service packages at competitive rates.”

The 5G service will provide high-speed internet connectivity 10 times faster than the current 4G network to prepaid and post-paid customers.

5G will also allow customers to utilize advanced digital solutions and technologies, including virtual and augmented reality, Automated System Operations, 3D printing, and robotics, in addition to enabling them to enjoy their entertainment content and video games.
