Telenet Capex touches €294 million in H1

Telenet said Capex for the six months ended June 30, 2022 reached €626.6 million, up 122 percent versus the prior year period and equivalent to approximately 49 percent of revenue over the period.
Telenet Capex Q2 2022Excluding the recognition of certain football broadcasting rights, mobile spectrum licenses and certain lease-related capital additions impacts, H1 2022 capital expenditures were €294.4 million, equivalent to approximately 23 percent of revenue, and representing 11 percent year-on-year increase.

Telenet obtained frequencies in the 700 MHz, 900 MHz, 1400 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 3500 MHz bands for €302 million. Telenet aims to expand 5G network to provide higher speeds, capacity, lower latency and more stability to consumers as well as businesses in Belgium.

Telenet reported revenue of €1.291.6 billion in H1 2022, broadly flat compared to H1 2021 revenue, which included certain one-off benefits.

Telenet reported net profit of €793.4 million in H1 2022, up 275 percent, due to the gain from the sale of tower assets related to the TowerCo transaction as well as a significantly improved financial result.
