T-Mobile’s 5G On Demand slashes costs for private networks

T-Mobile has launched 5G On Demand, an innovative solution designed to offer businesses a portable, cost-effective 5G private network that can be set up quickly and easily.

5G innovation from T-Mobile promises to cut costs while maintaining high-performance network capabilities for industries such as media, entertainment, oil and gas, and construction. T-Mobile’s 5G Business Internet is available for $30 per month. T-Mobile did not reveal the price of 5G On Demand.

One of the standout features of 5G On Demand is its ability to reduce reliance on expensive fiber infrastructure. By delivering high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity akin to fiber, it minimizes the need for costly installations. This shift away from fiber, traditionally required for high-speed data transmission, provides a significant cost-saving for businesses.

T-Mobile says its 5G On Demand is a lower-cost alternative to custom-built permanent private networks. These conventional setups can be complex and expensive, requiring significant investments in hardware and ongoing maintenance. By contrast, T-Mobile’s solution simplifies deployment, setup, and teardown, making it much more affordable without sacrificing performance.

Industries can also benefit from remote production capabilities, which reduce the need for expensive on-site personnel and equipment. The solution enhances operational efficiency by allowing seamless data capture and transmission, particularly in media production.

High-profile events like the PGA Championship have already demonstrated how 5G On Demand can power advanced, cost-efficient broadcasting solutions, including the transmission of 4K video without the bulk and complexity of traditional setups.

With deployment possible within 48 hours, T-Mobile’s 5G offering enhances flexibility and speed, making it an attractive option for businesses looking for quick, temporary, and cost-effective network solutions. The ability to support dynamic needs, whether for a major sports event or a construction site, means businesses can avoid long-term, expensive infrastructure commitments.
