T-Mobile is the best and fastest mobile provider in US: Ookla

T-Mobile was the fastest mobile provider in the United States during July-December 2024, achieving download speed of 212.77 Mbps.

T-Mobile was significantly ahead of AT&T at 95.08 Mbps and Verizon Wireless at 86.23 Mbps, Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data said.

T-Mobile also dominated in upload speed, recording 11.45 Mbps, and had the lowest latency of 49 ms.

As the fastest 5G provider, T-Mobile achieved a 5G Speed Score of 242.76, leading in median 5G download speed with 281.52 Mbps, ahead of Verizon Wireless at 199.1 Mbps and AT&T at 140.09 Mbps. It recorded a median 5G upload speed of 13.39 Mbps and led in 5G latency with 47 ms.

T-Mobile demonstrated the best mobile network Consistency in the United States, with 85.4 percent of samples meeting or exceeding the threshold of 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload throughput.

T-Mobile also achieved the best 5G Consistency, with 75.3 percent of samples meeting or exceeding 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload, closely followed by Verizon with 74.2 percent. T-Mobile recorded the highest 5G Availability, with 89.4 percent of its users accessing its 5G network a majority of the time during this period, according to Speedtest Intelligence data.

In video streaming performance, T-Mobile provided the best mobile video experience in the United States, achieving a Video Streaming Score of 75.75. Verizon Wireless stood out for its 5G video experience, leading the market with a 5G Video Streaming Score of 83.37.

T-Mobile also excelled in mobile gaming, recording the best mobile gaming experience with a Game Score of 86.12. It led the market in 5G gaming as well, achieving a 5G Game Score of 87.04. Speedtest users rated T-Mobile as the top mobile provider in the United States, giving it a customer rating of 3.70 out of 5, placing it ahead of its competitors.
