Sunrise 5G coverage reached 262 towns in Switzerland

Sunrise said it is providing 5G service in more than 262 cities / towns across Switzerland.
Sunrise CEO Olaf SwanteeSunrise is investing in its 5G network with the aim of offering the maximum speed of up to 2 Gbit/s. Sunrise 5G reached at least 80 percent of the local population. All Sunrise Shops will offer 5G coverage by the end of the year.

Sunrise will launch 5G Indoor Coverage as a Service for business customers in the fourth quarter.  It launched 5G network for selected customers at the start of April. Huawei is assisting Sunrise for the 5G network infrastructure.

“Sunrise 5G network is the biggest in the country and sets a benchmark in terms of coverage quality. We will be launching a dedicated solution for companies, allowing them to benefit from 5G as soon as possible to aid their digitization,” says Olaf Swantee, CEO of Sunrise.

Sunrise has revealed the current list of locations where the 5G network is available and the new coverage map.

Sunrise said its engineers are setting up fast Internet with fiber optics through the air, so that households and companies can benefit from speeds of up to 2 Gbit/s without a fiber optic connection.
