StarHub-M1 consortium secures 2.1GHz spectrum for S$52.5 mn

The StarHub-M1 consortium has secured five lots of 2.1GHz wireless spectrum (including two FROR lots) to enhance 5G coverage in Singapore. The auction prices were $15.5 million per 5G spectrum lot and $3 million per FROR lot.
StarHub 5G in SingaporeStarHub was the first in Singapore to launch 5G services in 2020 and it offers services via an award-winning 5G network that is on target to achieve 75 percent by the end of the year. Nationwide 5G coverage is expected next year, StarHub said.

The joint 5G network rollout with M1 allows both companies to optimize infrastructure spectrum costs as well as to reduce the carbon footprint of their 5G service offering.
