China Mobile 5G Capex reaches RMB58.7 bn during first half

China Mobile has revealed that its Capex (capital expenditure) totaled RMB92 billion and 5G-related investments totaled RMB58.7 billion during the first half of 2022.

China Mobile is gaining from the co-construction and sharing of 5G network with China Broadcasting Network Corporation and built the base network using 700MHz frequency band. China Mobile grew its indoor coverage and utilized 2.6GHz and 4.9GHz frequency bands.

China Mobile said it has used one million 5G base stations, including 300,000 700MHz 5G base stations, which together served 263 million 5G network customers and more than 4,400 5G dedicated network projects.
China Mobile 5G Capex for 2022China Mobile’s ARPU (average revenue per user per month) of from mobile business rose 0.2 percent to RMB52.3 thanks to the migration to 5G and increase in customer spending on digital life.

China Mobile has 511 million 5G package customers and 263 million 5G network customers across the country.

China Mobile recorded revenue of RMB496.9 billion (+12 percent) and services revenue of RMB426.4 billion (+8.4 percent) in the first half of 2022.

China Mobile’s digital transformation revenue grew 39.2 percent to RMB110.8 billion in the first half of 2022 benefitting from the rapid growth of digital content, smart home, 5G solutions for vertical industry sectors, mobile cloud and other information services businesses. Digital transformation services contributed 26 percent of telecom services revenue.
