AT&T Q3 2025: Revenue Rises 1.6% as Mobility and Fiber Subscriber Growth Boost Performance

AT&T has reported strong third-quarter 2025 results, supported by solid growth in its wireless and fiber businesses.

AT&T posted revenue of $30.7 billion, up 1.6 percent, driven by gains in Mobility, Consumer Wireline, and Mexico.

Operating income of AT&T rose to $6.1 billion from $2.1 billion in the same period last year, while adjusted operating income was $6.6 billion.

Net income reached $9.7 billion, boosted by a $5.5 billion gain from the sale of its remaining 70 percent stake in DIRECTV.

AT&T continued to grow its subscriber base with 405,000 postpaid phone net additions, maintaining a low churn rate of 0.92 percent.

The company added 288,000 AT&T Fiber customers and 270,000 AT&T Internet Air customers, bringing total consumer fiber broadband revenue to $2.2 billion, up 16.8 percent year-on-year. Over 41 percent of AT&T Fiber households also subscribed to AT&T Mobility services, reflecting strong convergence momentum.

Capital expenditures for the quarter totaled $4.9 billion, slightly below $5.3 billion a year earlier. Total capital investment, including vendor financing, reached $5.3 billion. Operating expenses declined to $24.6 billion from $28.1 billion, primarily due to lower content costs and ongoing efficiency initiatives, partially offset by higher equipment and network-related expenses.

AT&T reaffirmed its full-year 2025 outlook, targeting capital investment in the range of $22 billion to $22.5 billion, free cash flow in the low-to-mid $16 billion range, and adjusted EPS at the higher end of $1.97 to $2.07.

The company plans to maintain consistent capital spending through 2027 while strengthening free cash flow and reducing leverage, supported by upcoming fiber and spectrum acquisitions from Lumen and EchoStar.

AT&T’s Communications segment reported revenue of $29.5 billion in Q3 2025, a 1.5 percent year-on-year increase, supported by growth in Mobility and Consumer Wireline services.

Mobility service revenue rose 2.3 percent to $16.9 billion, driving operating income growth of 1.7 percent and EBITDA growth of 2.2 percent. Total Mobility revenue rose 3.1 percent, reflecting higher wireless device sales and subscriber additions.

AT&T added 405,000 postpaid phone subscribers during the quarter, maintaining momentum in high-value customer segments.

AT&T’s Business Wireline revenue declined 7.8 percent due to reductions in legacy and transitional services, partly offset by a 6 percent increase in fiber and advanced connectivity services.

AT&T’s Consumer Wireline revenue grew 4.1 percent, led by an 8.2 percent rise in broadband revenue driven by 16.8 percent growth in fiber revenue.

AT&T recorded 288,000 additions in AT&T Fiber and 270,000 additions in AT&T Internet Air, marking its ninth consecutive quarter of positive broadband growth.
