TRAI’s My Speed App indicates that Reliance Jio is the top telecom operator in terms of average 4G download speed, while Idea Cellular leads in 4G upload speed for the month of September 2017.
Reliance Jio is in third position for 4G upload speed with 4.4 Mbps. Reliance Jio clocked download speed of 18.5 Mbps.
Vodafone India is in the second position for both 4G download and 4G upload speed test done by wireless customers on TRAI app.
Vodafone customers received an average 4G download speed of 10 Mbps and upload speed of 5.9 Mbps.
Idea Cellular topped the chart in average upload 4G speed for September with an upload speed of 6.307 Mbps. Idea Cellular reported download speed of 8.74 Mbps. As per TRAI’s My Speed App, Idea has been consistently achieving high upload speeds since May 2017.
Bharti Airtel is in the fourth position for both download and upload speed. Bharti Airtel achieved 4G download speed of 8.9 Mbps and upload speed of 4.3 Mbps for the month of September 2017, said TRAI.
The regulator collects and computes data download speed with the help of its MySpeed application.
Idea Cellular has expanded network to 260,000 sites across the country with 50 percent cellular sites dedicated to mobile broadband services.
Idea Cellular added nearly 50,000 broadband sites over the last 12 months period ending August ’17, growing its broadband footprint to cover 5,888 Census towns and nearly 105,755 villages, reaching out to 45 percent population of the country.
