Vodafone India has made investment for rolling out 4G network on 2100 MHz spectrum band across the Maharashtra state and launched LTE service in Nagpur.
Vodafone 4G service, which is presently available in Nagpur, will be available in several more towns and cities in Maharashtra telecom circle by March 2017.
Vodafone India, in a bid to address the growing need for mobile Internet speed, has invested INR 10,880 crore till date including INR 248 crore in H1 FY 2017 to expand, modernize and build a more technology and energy efficient network in Maharashtra and Goa circle.
Vodafone India has 940 Vodafone branded stores in the state. Vodafone has 1.87 crore mobile customers in Maharashtra.
Vodafone has launched 4G across 20 countries.
“Beginning today, our customers in Nagpur and soon across Maharashtra, can enjoy the world’s largest 4G network experience,” said Naveen Chopra, chief operating officer of Vodafone India, in a statement.
Vodafone 4G service is available in Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi and NCR, Mumbai, Haryana, UP East, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Assam and North East telecom circles.
Goa, Punjab, UP West, Chennai and Tamil Nadu will received Vodafone 4G coverage shortly.
Vodafone India is targeting 2,400 towns across the country by March 2017.
