Telefonica to modernize and expand 4G LTE network in Spain

Telecom operator Telefonica is set to modernize its nationwide networks and expand its 4G LTE network to improve performance and capacity in Spain.

The mobile service provider has selected Nokia Networks for supplying radio access equipment and professional services in Andalusia, Galicia, Castilla Leon and Levante over a period of three years.

Nokia Networks, which reported 7 percent decrease in Q2 2014 sales revenue, did not share financial details of the deal with Telefonica.

“Our customers are increasingly adopting advanced smartphones and enjoying data-heavy multimedia content, so delivering more services while improving their quality is more important than ever,” said Joaquin Mata at Telefonica.
