Telcordia Next Gen OSS to be Used by Telekom Malaysia for Broadband Rollout

Telcordia has announced that the next generation Telcordia Fulfillment solution is now in production at Telekom Malaysia,  supporting the rollout of its high-speed broadband (HSBB) services.

Telekom Malaysia is two years into a $3B HSBB rollout, aiming to raise domestic broadband penetration and provide 10Mbps-1Gbps broadband access to 1.3 million customers by 2012. The network expansion will enable triple play offers as well as supporting high-value enterprise services on a next generation network.  Supporting the network rollout is an equally comprehensive OSS transformation program.

The Fulfillment solution sits at the heart of Telekom Malaysia’s new operations support system, enabling automated network design, inventory discovery and reconciliation, and providing the core of automated service fulfillment and assurance. Telcordia Service Director has also been selected by Telekom Malaysia for service performance management to help realize a customer-focused, service-centric operation. Service Director consolidates near-real-time service and network performance information to deliver much richer and more precise analysis of service quality and customer experience.

The key to a successful mass market broadband rollout, in any geography, is the ability to automate complex technical processes”,  said Bill Wanke, President, Operations Solutions, Telcordia. Only through greater speed, consistency and efficiency can communications service providers (CSP) hope to profit from providing new and more complex services to a mass market”.

Working with a major systems integrator, the Telcordia Fulfillment Suite incorporating Telcordia Granite Inventory was deployed at Telekom Malaysia within 12 months.
