Reliance Jio strengthens presence in India, well ahead of Airtel, Vi

Reliance Jio has strengthened its presence in India as its mobile phone subscriber base reached 422.91 million in March 2021 as compared with 352.39 million for Bharti Airtel and 283.71 million for Vodafone Idea (Vi).

The difference in mobile subscriber base between Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Jio and Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Airtel is widening and touched nearly 70.52 million during the financial year 2020-21, statistics available from TRAI showed.

Reliance Jio is the dominating leader in majority of telecom circles across India. Reliance Jio is behind Airtel in telecom circles such as Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, North East, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh East.

In Andhra Pradesh, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 31.32 million as compared with 31.97 million for Reliance Jio.

In Assam, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 9.23 million as compared with 9.24 million for Reliance Jio.

In Bihar, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 35.99 million as compared with 32.51 million for Reliance Jio.

In Delhi, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 16.42 million as compared with 19.74 million for Reliance Jio.

In Gujarat, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 12.09 million as compared with 26.15 million for Reliance Jio.

In Haryana, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 5.47 million as compared with 9.08 million for Reliance Jio.

In Himachal Pradesh, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 3.36 million as compared with 4.13 million for Reliance Jio.

In Jammu & Kashmir, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 5.62 million as compared with 4.59 million for Reliance Jio.

In Karnataka, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 30.62 million as compared with 21.57 million for Reliance Jio.

In Kerala, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 6.79 million as compared with 10.19 million for Reliance Jio.

In Kolkata, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 5.91 million as compared with 11.21 million for Reliance Jio.

In Madhya Pradesh, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 15.41 million as compared with 34.51 million for Reliance Jio.

In Maharashtra, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 19.10 million as compared with 36.74 million for Reliance Jio.

In Mumbai, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 10.08 million as compared with 15.10 million for Reliance Jio.

In North East, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 5.43 million as compared with 4.24 million for Reliance Jio.

In Odisha, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 11.17 million as compared with 14.32 million for Reliance Jio.

In Punjab, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 11.65 million as compared with 12.73 million for Reliance Jio.

In Rajasthan, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 21.95 million as compared with 25.69 million for Reliance Jio.

In Tamil Nadu, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 27.09 million as compared with 25.28 million for Reliance Jio.

In Uttar Pradesh East, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 35.27 million as compared with 31.31 million for Reliance Jio.

In Uttar Pradesh West, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 16.93 million as compared with 21.03 million for Reliance Jio.

In West Bengal, Airtel has mobile subscriber-base of 15.39 million as compared with 21.42 million for Reliance Jio.
