Reliance Jio, India’s #1 telecom operator, has revealed sales, profit and ARPU for the first quarter of fiscal 2021-22.
Reliance Jio’s services revenue rose 9.8 percent to Rs 22,267 crore or $3 billion.
EBITDA of Reliance Jio increased 21.3 percent to Rs 8,892 crore or $1.2 billion.
Net profit of Reliance Jio grew 44.9 percent to Rs 3,651 crore or $491 million.
Total customer base of Reliance Jio reached 440.6 million as on 30th June 2021, achieving net addition of 42.3 million customers.
Reliance Jio’s ARPU during the quarter was Rs 138.4 per subscriber per month.
Total data traffic increased 38.5 percent to 20.3 billion GB during the quarter.
Reliance Jio’s total voice traffic was 1.06 trillion minutes during the quarter, registering 19.5 percent growth.
JioFiber now has more than 3 million connected homes with improving momentum in recent months.
The telecom operator said churn reduced during the quarter to 0.95 percent on the back of customer focused initiatives to minimize COVID led disruption. These included complimentary offers for JioPhone users, emergency data loan, WhatsApp recharge option, and Freedom Plans with no daily data limits.
