Reliance Jio revenue surges 44% as 4G base reaches 331 mn

Reliance Jio has reported operating revenue of Rs 11,679 crore (+44 percent), EBITDA of 4,686 crore (+48.9 percent) with EBITDA margin of 40.1 percent and net profit of Rs 891 crore during the June quarter of fiscal 2019-20.

Jio is the market leader in 16 out of 22 telecom circles in India, the Mukesh Ambani-promoted telecom operator said in a statement on Friday.

Reliance Jio has a 4G subscriber base of 331.3 million as on 30 June 2019. The company achieved the lowest churn in the industry at 0.97 percent per month. Reliance Jio’s mobile ARPU during the quarter was Rs 122 per subscriber per month.

Reliance Jio said its wireless data traffic was 1,090 crore GB. Total voice traffic was 78,597 crore minutes. Average data consumption per user per month of 11.4 GB (10.9 GB per user per month in the previous quarter) and average voice consumption of 821 minutes per user per month.

Reliance Jio added 24.5 million mobile phone customers to its all India 4G network during the quarter and 116 million during the previous twelve months.

Jio is the only network to deploy tri-band (800MHz/ 1800MHz/ 2300MHz) 4G across all its network sites. Reliance Jio does not reveal the number of base stations or investment related information.

World’s largest VoLTE network achieved 75 percent growth in daily voice traffic and it is now bigger than some of the legacy 2G/3G voice networks in India.

Reliance Jio has transferred Fiber and Tower business to Jio Digital Fibre and Reliance Jio Infratel, respectively, effective 31-March 2019.

Reliance Jio signed agreement with Brookfield Infrastructure Partners and its affiliates for an investment of Rs 25,215 crore into Tower InvIT.

Jio has started connecting enterprises with its mobile connectivity solutions on the back of its fiber network. Jio has started beta trials of JioGigaFiber services. It will launch smart home solutions soon targeting 50 million households.
