Mobile network experience will overtake pricing as the primary driver of incremental LTE subscribers and usage share. Vodafone Idea’s spectrum consolidation is yet to reflect in any improvement in network performance, even in some of their focus markets, Kotak Securities said in March.
Opensignal’s 4G Availability metric is not a measure of coverage or the geographic extent of a network. It measures what proportion of time users with a 4G device and subscription can get a network connection, in the places they most commonly visit.
Delhi and Mumbai scored less than 90 percent, behind Hyderabad’s 90.5 percent. Te report said Bangalore achieved 92.3 percent, while Ahmedabad scored 92.7 percent, according to Opensignal.
Srinagar’s 4G availability score was 94.9 percent. Raipur scored 94.8 percent, followed by Patna with 94.5 percent.
Reliance Jio’s national 4G Availability score was 96.7 percent — over 20 percentage points ahead of its main rivals, according to Opensignal.
