NTELOS Holdings has selected Alcatel-Lucent to provide 4G LTE network services for the nTelos Wireless network in West Virginia and parts of western Virginia.

nTelos Wireless is deploying Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G LTE solution, including Radio Access Network, Mobile Backhaul, and elements within its Evolved Packet Core (EPC) as part of its network expansion into West Virginia and parts of western Virginia.

Moreover, nTelos will deploy Alcatel-Lucent base stations supporting Sprint’s 1900MHz, 800MHz and 2.5G spectrum.

Alcatel-Lucent also will expand nTelos’ existing backhaul with its 7705 Service Aggregation Router and the EPC with the 9471 Wireless Mobility Manager.
