NSN to supply LTE network to Elisa Finland

Telecom equipment vendor NSN will supply LTE network to Elisa Finland.

This will be Finland’s first LTE network with 800 MHz spectrum band, NSN said on Thursday.

Earlier, NSN supplied 2G and 3G network to Elisa.

The contract marks the single largest mobile telecommunications deal in Finland and covers a period of 5 years from 2014 to 2018.

In January 2014, the telecom operator launched its 800 MHz LTE network in the country, aiming at fast mobile broadband network and fast build-out of nationwide coverage and which includes rural areas.

“4G services provide better user experience for example in video on demand services and new possibilities to distance working and video conferencing,” said Sami Komulainen, vice president at Elisa’s Mobile Network Services.

In addition, the agreement covers Care Services, including Active Software Support, Hardware Services and Competence Development Solutions.
