LTE in mind, Nokia Siemens hires Ken Wirth from Alcatel-Lucent

Telecom Lead America: Nokia Siemens Networks has
appointed Ken Wirth as head of customer operations for North and Latin America.
Wirth is joining Nokia Siemens from Alcatel-Lucent. The appointment is
significant as NSN will be focusing more on mobile broadband business. Wirth
has strong expertise in LTE 4G and worked with Verizon, AT&T, China Mobile,
Telefonica and other operators.

 

Wirth will look after sales throughout the Americas.
Previously, Wirth was president of the end-to-end networks business at Alcatel
Lucent.

 

Wirth will report to the chief executive officer, Rajeev
Suri.

 

Wirth was instrumental in building Alcatel-Lucent’s LTE
business with Verizon, AT&T, China Mobile, Telefonica and other operators.
The other leadership positions at Alcatel-Lucent include heading the company’s
4G/LTE business unit and serving as president of the Verizon customer team.

 

He also worked with Lucent Technologies as president of
multimedia network solutions which consisted of the fixed access, data and
optical businesses.
