GIGAnet from Vi is the fastest 4G network across India — well ahead of Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio — for the second consecutive quarter, Ookla said.
Vi has delivered the fastest 4G Download and Upload speeds compared to all other operators during the October – December 2020 quarter.
Vi is the only operator that delivered the fastest speed consistently over six months’ period on a pan-India basis, as per Ookla.
The fastest 4G network verification is based on analysis by Ookla of tests taken with Speedtest by 4G users across the country.
GIGAnet from Vi has been verified as the fastest 4G network for average download speeds in 16 Indian states – Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi, Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland.
Vi has topped the speed charts for average download speeds in 142 cities including Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Indore, Patna, Ranchi, Rajkot, Vadodara, Agra, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, as well as the metros of Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Kolkata, among others – improving its own performance of Q3 2020 when it was ranked fastest in 120 cities.
Ookla has verified Vi as the fastest 4G network pan-India from July to December 2020, close on the heels of the TRAI report showing Vodafone Idea delivering highest call quality for three consecutive months from November 2020 to January 2021.

Vodafone Idea delivered highest voice quality for the third month in a row, and was the only operator to score over 4 points on a scale of 1 to 5, as per the latest TRAI MyCall report for January 2021.
Vi has more than doubled its capacity, enabling the delivery of a superior network experience for its mobile customers. Vi has deployed advanced technologies and has been re-farming spectrum for 4G, resulting in doubling of both capacities and speed over a period of two years.
