Ericsson in LTE FDD/TDD deal with China Mobile Hong Kong

Telecom service provider China Mobile Hong Kong has selected Ericsson to enhance its converged LTE FDD/TDD and Evolved Packet Core network.

As part of the 4G deal, Ericsson will supply voice over LTE (VoLTE), Ericsson Charging System, Evolved IP network solution, and Proactive Support Services to further enhance the user experience and optimize the operation of the network.

Sean Lee, director and CEO of China Mobile Hong Kong, said: “Our business vision, combined with Ericsson’s leadership in radio, IP core networks, Operation and Business Support System and strong system support service, continues to ensure that we are able to provide our customers with a broad selection of customized services with best-in-class service quality.”

Ericsson Charging System solution enables an easy and visual way of creating and testing new services and bundles, shortening the time to market for China Mobile Hong Kong.

In a statement, Ericsson said it SSR 8000 Smart Services Routers, used in Evolved Packet Core and Evolved IP network solution, will allow China Mobile Hong Kong to simplify network design and operation.

Ericsson said it has been the sole supplier of China Mobile Hong Kong’s LTE FDD network, and its network partner for more than 17 years. Ericsson was also selected to expand the operator’s commercial LTE network with TD-LTE (LTE TDD) in Hong Kong.
