Deutsche Telekom upgrades LTE+ speed to 150 Mbps from 100 Mbps

Deutsche Telekom has launched LTE+ offering speeds of up to 150 Mbps from the earlier 100 Mbps.

LTE+ technology will go live immediately in over 100 towns and cities which have had access to a 100 Mbps service to date. The number will almost double by the end of the year, Deutsche Telekom said on Thursday.

There will be no change in LTE 4G tariffs.

Meanwhile, Samsung will be offering an upgrade of its Galaxy S4 with LTE+.

Comparable devices from other vendors will follow at the end of September.

Deutsche Telekom’s latest data products, including Speedstick LTE III, Speedbox LTE II and Speedbox LTE mini, will support LTE+ in September, following a software update.

SK Telecom, LG U+ and Korea Telecom — three South Korean operators – recently launched LTE-Advanced commercially.
