Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel has launched 4G services in Goa.
Ashok Ganapathy, hub CEO, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat, Bharti Airtel (India) said: “As an increasing number of Indians have shown a preference for consuming data and content over their mobile devices, we want our existing customers to be the first ones to enjoy the 4G experience at 3G prices.”
Bharti Airtel, which claims the largest 4G network in India, is investing in 4G as part of its Rs 60,000 crore investment program in the next 3 years. Telecoms such as Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, among others did not respond to Airtel with a matching investment plan to boost telecom network quality.
Under its Project Leap investment program, Airtel plans to add around 160,000 sites in the next three years. Airtel will also be adding nearly 23,000 high speed data sites enhancing the overall network experience for customers.
Airtel is promising high definition video streaming with zero buffering, downloading of 10 movies in less than 30 minutes, uploading photo albums in less than five minutes (i.e. uploading two high resolution photos per second), connecting multiple devices without compromising on the experience, etc. to its 4G customers.
The price of Airtel’s Infinity Plans is Rs 999.
