Algerie Telecom, Nokia announce 4G LTE network in Algeria

Algerie Telecom and Nokia today announced the launch of North Africa’s first commercial LTE 4G network in Algeria.

The state-run telecom operator utilized Nokia’s LTE solutions including its Single RAN (radio access network) Advanced and comprehensive services.

Azouaou Mehmel, president and CEO of Algerie Telecom, said that the company addressed the demand for ultra-fast broadband network by building an LTE network with the latest technology available on the market.

Nokia, as per the LTE deal, has supplied its Single RAN Advanced solution, Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station, NetAct for network management across technologies and a security solution from Juniper Networks to protect both the operator’s network assets and end users’ privacy.
