India’s largest telecom operator based on annual telecom service revenue has also optimized its 3G network, which carries bulk of the voice traffic for smartphone users, by deploying advanced network solutions and network software.

Over the next six to eight weeks 4G smartphone users on the Airtel network will experience improved voice clarity, call stability and coverage.

Airtel has over 23 million customers across Tamil Nadu. The company plans to roll out 12,000 cellular sites and 3,000 kms of optic fiber across the state as part of the strategy to enhance customer experience.

Airtel has also increased its 4G coverage across Tamil Nadu to enable better data experience to its 4G subscribers resulting into improved 4G availability – both indoors and outdoors – in Tamil Nadu.

Airtel said its VoLTE service offers better connectivity with fall-back on 3G / 2G in case of non-availability of 4G. Close to 200 4G smartphones now support Airtel VoLTE services in the state.

“Airtel has already cemented its place as the fastest network in India and with the latest optimization, smartphone users on our network will also enjoy better voice experience. We invite all customers to switch to Airtel 4G and enjoy the superior network experience,” Manoj Murali, CEO – Kerala & Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel said.
